Unsay buot ipasabot aning kantaha.

"A house without music is like a body without a soul". These famous saying of Don Bosco always make people think whether it is true or not. But anyways, in today’s generation of teenagers they usually listen to metal music. I'm not saying that listening to this genre of music is bad. But this kind of music usually influence the listeners to do on what the band are trying to express in their lyrics. The most influential metal music based on what rockers told me is "Black Metal" and "Death Metal". Have you ever heard the music of the famous Marilyn Manson and Slipknot? There lyrics contains hate, anguish, violence, and defiance. Some of their songs contains hate about people around them. Bands like these usually came from Europe, London, United Kingdom, Canada and Eastern countries. Many listeners don't concentrate on the lyrics of each song but just on how these musicians play their respective instruments. While others really go deep down on what the song is all about. These kind of listeners can be easily get carried away and at times they even put it into practice.
One of the effects of this kind of music is killing. They don't anymore believe that there is God. Listening to this music is like having your way and opening the gateway to hell. With respect to those people who just listen metal for fun. But not all metal bands is expressing the same thoughts. Some metal band just want their type of music to be metal. But the message they deliver does not contain any harmful matter. Other metal bands usually have their lyrics written about love, failures and heart aches. One band that has this kind of lyrics or songs were Urbandub and Powerspoonz. These band play metal music in a different level. Urbandub get the attention of their listener on the uniqueness of their music. And most dubistas (term for people that listen to them) there were captured not on their kind of music being played but on the emotive content of their lyrics. While on the band Powerspoonz their supporters not just like their music but on the attitude they are doing when they perform on the stage.
Bands like Urbandub and Powerspoonz influence their listeners to make their own band. These is a good thing about some metal bands, encouraging the youth to get into music and not on other vices like drugs.
Music scene here in Cebu seems to grow more than it is expected."Daghan gasulti na ang mga taga Manila artist ra ang musikat kay they are based in the Capital". But little they know that Cebuano are also musically inclined people that posseses the same potentials just like artist in Manila. One of the most well known cebuano artist that uses cebuano language (ang bisayang pinulungan)is no other than Mr. Yoyoy Villame. Mr. Villame became famous of his song of the story about the discovery of the Philippines by Magelan. Many artist was influenced by this well-known cebuano artist, many bands are sprouting in every corner of Cebu City. One of these bands is "Missing Filemon" , they release their first album last 2002. The band uses the Cebuano language in writing songs. Some of the famous band in the City are Smooth Friction, Balde ni Allan, Aggresive Audio, Mantequilla, and Phylum. This band uses their own cebuano language in making songs. Some of the Cebuano artist that is famous in Manila are The Ambassadors, Urbandub, Junior Kilat, Faspitch. These artists are mostly signed on Lighter Records, the first indie label in Cebu. These artist strive hard to grab the attention of the people in Manila. These artist are mostly in the genre of rock. While in the Hip-Hop scene Dice and K9 is the famous one. Due to the need recording studios many studios open their gates for Cebuano artist. The famous recording studio in the 90's and still helping the Cebuano artist up to today is the "Backyard Project Studio". Many famous artists already recorded in
this studio on of the few is the band called "Slapshock" and was mixed by Kerryl "mik mik" Demeterio. Still there are many recording studios open in the late year 2000 and early 2005. ZZBU studio also records the song of the famous band Missing Filemon, Phoenix studio record the songs of the band Hastang.
But how can these new bands sprouting in every corner of the city to surviveif there were no corporate sponsors. Yes it is a good thing to have a sponsor but itsnot about having any sponsors at all. It's about how you want your music to be. 'Cozbands don't make music for other to hear but they are only making music forthemselves to enjoy. Good thing there are some that understands the need ofunderground artist. The Skinny Buddha production, these productions giveunderground bands an opportunity to play their music in a bigger crowd. Another one is Food Not Bombs, SRA (Struggle for Radical Action) and All Mixed Up. This group organizes a monthly gig and most of the music played in this gigs is punk music. Most of the band that are now famous in Cebu City mostly came from these productions. Bands struggle to record their respectivematerial because of the lack of support of the government. In today’s world bands in Cebu usually get from their own pocket to record and sell their albums independently. It was a big relief when Lighter Records, Daybreak Records and Indie CultureOnline came. This have been a big thanks for the artist/band for knowing that there are still people that exist that believe on their talents and understandsthe needs of a artist/band to help spread their music in a bigger audiences.

It was a fine day until you say the word that almost got everybody on a mood of silence. Don’t even know what to do when you speak those words in my ear. It was a soap opera on a bitter ending. All my dreams suddenly torn into pieces, it felt like all the betterment in this world is coming to me. You didn’t even realize the pain that you cause in my heart and in my mind. But why did it all end up like this you didn’t grant me what I ask for.? Maybe tomorrow it’ll be okay or maybe still the same at all. Oh my God but now that I already made a promise to myself that this could be the last time I will be in love. Now I think I understand why it all happened to me. This just could be a trial to face in time, just like every person did realize in their life. Realize the fact that there just not the one for the person they love or they had live life with for couple of years or moths. Even happily married people realize this problem in their relationship. It sounds canny but it’s true. What an awful life waiting for me in the future…umm…or maybe the other way around.
Yeah, we should also take time to ask ourselves why we’re still alive despite of all this hardships in life God has given to us, On how and why we’re still living in this world full of defiant and discrimination. You should act now, before it’s too late to remember the times when you’re still out of problems.
