According to wikipedia,
Cloud Computing is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet.[1][2] Users need not have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure in the "cloud" that supports them.
Here's a short video that explains what Cloud Computing is all about
The Five attributes of Cloud Computing:
* It is service-based.
* It is scalable and elastic. I.e., it is able to add and remove infrastructure as needed.
* It uses shared infrastructure to build economies of scale.
* It is metered and users pay according to usage.
* Most importantly, of course, it uses Internet technologies.
The concept generally incorporates combinations of the following:
* infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
* platform as a service (PaaS)
* software as a service (SaaS)
